My New Year’s gift to you is this, a picture of the last sunset of 2007. It was taken by my husband at Mallory Pier in Key West just about a half hour ago.

Happy Holidays!
kimberly on Dec 24th 2007 08:34 am
Christmas Eve is a busy time for everyone and I am no exception. I still have a few gifts to wrap, a few calls to make and a last minute trip to the supermarket for some hors deovres to take to the Christmas Eve celebration at my mil’s house later today.
So I’ll just wish you and yours a happy and peaceful holiday season.
And whatever way you choose to celebrate, stay safe and be
joyful.

Eharlequin: A Less-Than-Jolly Shopping Experience
kimberly on Dec 20th 2007 08:40 am
Like most writers I am a voracious reader. I am also a sucker for a holiday theme romance. So this morning after reading Shannon Stacey’s column over at RTB, Tis the Season for Category Romance, I decided to pop over to Eharlequin and pick up a few Christmas theme category romances.

Free Rice (help battle hunger)
kimberly on Dec 19th 2007 01:21 pm
A friend turned me on to this site. And when she told me about it she said, be careful it’s really addictive.
And she was right!
Free Rice is a vocabulary site where you can play a little word game and for every correct answer you give, a donation of free rice (paid for by the site advertizers) is made to the UN World Food Program.
This is how it works.

Falling in Love Makes Your Brain Grow
kimberly on Dec 18th 2007 02:20 pm
Researchers at the University of Pavia, in Italy, have found that falling in love raises levels of Nerve Growth Factor for about a year. This hormone-like
substance helps to restore the nervous system and improves memory by triggering the growth of new brain cells. It is also associated with the feeling of
being “loved-up” and contented, inducing a calming effect on the body and mind. Unfortunately, researchers found levels dropped after about a year — the
point at which feelings of romantic love fall away and reality kicks in.That’s right. Falling in love is actually good for you. Of course we romance writers knew that all along.

An Early Christmas Gift
kimberly on Dec 11th 2007 05:26 pm
Here is a little m/m Christmas flash fiction for your holiday enjoyment.
Sleybells ring. Are you listening? In the lane, snow is glistening …
Dan hummed along with the tinny music pumping throughout the mall as he and Rachel made their way past Starbucks and Wilson’s toward the second floor entrance of Macy’s. He paused in front of Yankee Candle. He needed a polyanna gift for the office. Maybe one of those apple pie scented candles …
“Let’s go in here a minute, Rache.”
The four-year-old scrunched up her face and shook her head, blond pigtails swinging. “That store makes me sneeze.”
“You know what? That store makes me sneeze too.” Dan grinned down at her and started walking again.
Okay, so maybe not a candle. Continue Reading »
